Privacy is important to us, and we want you to take the time to read our stance on Privacy.  This Privacy Policy contains details on how we collect, use, and share information about you and/or the individual using our service with our technology vendors and our employees and tutors.

My Cloud Class takes reasonable and appropriate measures designed to protect all personal information. However, no security measures can be 100% effective, we monitor activity on the platform for issues that may arise and will act as necessary.


Signup and Collection of Information

During the signup process we collect information about the parent/guardian and ask them to provide limited details about the student.  This allows us to effectively communicate to the parent/guardian, assign an appropriate tutor to the student, facilitate payment, and provide updates on progress.

Privacy of Minors

As our service is intended for students who are likely under the age of 18, we take extra precautions with our communications.  Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) should not transfer any Personal Information (email, phone number, home address, etc.) to us. We will not ask for Information of a private nature from minors, nor will we process their information. Parents, guardians, or others responsible for the student/minor will be asked for any information we may need to facilitate our service.  Parents/guardians or others should let their child know that they shouldn’t share any personal information with the tutor.

Additional notice to residents of the United States: We do not intentionally target individuals under the age or thirteen (13) or ask them to provide any information on our website or platform.

Privacy with Tutors

Our tutors are trained in educating students, many of them are working in schools today and have gone through background checks in order to get those positions.  Additionally, our tutors can choose to get a background check for to help you feel even more confident about the interactions they have with your student. If they have elected to get a background check, you will be able to see a checkmark next to their profile. Our tutors will not ask for personally identifiable information (phone number, address, email address, etc.) from the student in their interactions, but, they may ask for some detail on their interests to help personalize the content that they are providing to them and make the learning more accessible. 

Where is my data stored?

My Cloud Class is a Canadian company, we have tutors across Canada, but we use technology that is hosted in Canada and the United States.  Your data may be processed or stored in Canada and the United States.  As a result, your personal information is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be disclosed to or accessed by the courts, law enforcement, and government authorities in accordance with their laws.  We use encryption for sending information to and from the services that we use to transfers your data.

We leverage the following services / vendors to help facilitate our services.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) – website hosting, database hosting, privacy policy

Mailchimp – email service provider privacy policy

Except as set forth in this Privacy Notice and as required or permitted by law, we do not sell or share your identifying personal information with third parties without your consent.

Safeguarding and Retention of Personal Information

We have put in place administrative, and technical measures in an effort to safeguard the personal information in our custody and control against theft, loss and unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure. We restrict access to your personal information on a need-to-know basis to employees, contractors, and authorized service providers who require access to fulfill their job requirements.

We have personal information retention processes designed to retain personal information for no longer than necessary for the purposes stated above or to otherwise meet legal requirements.

Access Your Personal Information

You have the right to access, update, delete, and correct inaccuracies in your personal information that is stored in our system, with some legal exceptions.  You may make a request for us to get your personal information by sending us an email at with the word “Privacy” in the subject line.  We may request additional details from you to verify that we should release this information to you or allow changes to be made.
